Stickley, Gustav
(9 mar. 1858, Osceola, Wis., EE.UU.–21 abr. 1942, Siracusa, N.Y.).

Diseñador y fabricante de mobiliario estadounidense. Aprendió a fabricar muebles en la fábrica de sillas propiedad de un tío suyo. Después de hacerse cargo de la fábrica, se trasladó al estado de Nueva York, primero a Binghamton y luego a Siracusa. Influenciado por el Arts and Crafts Movement y por las visitas a las antiguas misiones del sudoeste de Norteamérica, 1900 introdujo una original línea de muebles de roble macizo. Con el fin de difundir sus ideas y diseños publicó la influyente revista The Craftsman (1901–16). En 1916 sus dos hermanos menores fundaron una empresa para fabricar mobiliario a partir de sus diseños, y lo llamaron estilo Misión, bajo cuyo nombre sigue siendo popular hasta hoy.
